Congress Passes FY26 LHHS Appropriations Bills

On Tuesday, Congress passed the Fiscal Year (FY) 26 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) appropriations bill, increasing NIH funding to $47.2 billion. The bill prohibits changes to facilities and administrative cost reimbursement rates and prevents any increase in multiyear (forward) grant funding beyond FY25 levels. Seeburg Prize Nominations Due February 12

Nominations for the Peter Seeburg Integrative Neuroscience Prize are open until Thursday, February 12, 5 p.m. EST. The Prize will be awarded at the FENS Forum. 

International Travel Awards: JNS Abstract Deadline Extended

The abstract submission deadline for the Japan Neuroscience Society (JNS) meeting is now Thursday, February 12, 3 a.m. EST. North American trainees who submit abstracts to JNS, the FENS Forum, or the Chinese Neuroscience Society meeting may qualify for SfN’s International Travel Awards.

PLAN FOR NEUROSCIENCE 2026: WASHINGTON, D.C., NOVEMBER 14–18

Key Neuroscience 2026 Dates  

  • Thursday, February 19, 5 p.m. EST: Deadline to submit your Neuroscience Networking Event for a chance to receive a complimentary meeting space in an SfN headquarter hotel or the convention center. 
  • Wednesday, May 27–Wednesday, June 10: Abstract submission period.
  • Thursday, October 22: Final day to submit a proposal for a Neuroscience Networking Event.
  • Saturday, November 14–Wednesday, November 18: Neuroscience 2026 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
