Next JNeurosci Editor-in-Chief Announced
SfN is pleased to announce the appointment of Sabine Kastner as the next Editor-in-Chief of JNeurosci. "I’m very much looking forward to continuing and developing the important work of JNeurosci,” said Kastner. “Outgoing EiC Marina Picciotto leaves behind a strong journal that is publishing some of the most important science in the field, and I am pleased and honored to have this opportunity to take the reins from her and lead [JNeurosci] through its next steps.”

All legitimate communications of this sort will come from SfN directly or from Convention Management Resources (CMR) for housing and Convention Data Services (CDS) for registration.
In this eNeurocommentary, Catherine Vidal discusses the various ethical considerations for the use of neurotechnologies (NTs), specifically with respect to mental autonomy and protection of brain data. Vidal stresses the importance of establishing laws that protect "neurorights” — an emerging category of fundamental rights around ideas of rights to mental privacy, mental integrity, and cognitive liberty — along with the development of NTs.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is having a virtual symposium on the Neuroscience of Cancer on Thursday, September 22–23. Registrants can also submit an abstract by September 1, that will be published as a supplement in the journal Advanced Biology.

2022 International Brain Bee (IBB) World Champion
Fifteen-year-old Canadian high school student Helene Li is the 2022 International Brain Bee (IBB) World Champion. Second place went to 17-year-old Anmol Bhatia from the U.S., and third place to 17-year-old Ugne Birstonaite from Lithuania. The winners were announced at the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) Forum 2022 in Paris. The 11 finalists joined the conference stage by Zoom and were introduced by last year’s World Champion Viktoriia Vydhzak from Ukraine.
